October Haul

Last month I didn't really buy much because I am trying to save up for Christmas which is just around the corner... *Excited*

But I do have a couple of items which I can show you.

My first two items are hair based products which I have fell in love with!! The VO5 'Give me texture' spray has worked wonders!! I bought this because I was watching Zoella's hair tutorial video and saw that this made her hair stay in longer when it is styled so I had to give this a try.

Also, because my hair is just so thin, silky and naturally straight, you can't really do anything with it so I have found this is an amazing product which helps a lot and will be on my shopping list for boots each month!! You don't even need a lot on your hair, so hopefully lasts a whole month *fingers crossed*

The next was the TRESemme Ultimate Hold Hairspray, which also works really well!! This isn't the best hairspray up to now, I still find the Elnett Hairspray works better but that is just my own opinion. I still really like this hairspray though it is a very good product, I just don' think it lasts longer. Give them both a try, see which you think is the best one.

I have also been loving the hairstyle's Zoella showed on her main channel as a tutorial. I posted a picture of one of the styles on twitter from my first try so I will post it here as well along with the link for Zoella's video for you to try too!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CACC_A3DxLM

I find that some perfumes which I own (or my Mam owns) give me headaches from time to time and a headache is not what I want when I'm at college and placement 6 hours a week!! Not good!! So I invested in some Impulse body sprays as I hadn't had them in a while. I got two scents from Boots as there was an offer on. I got 'Into Glamour' and 'Very Very Pink' which smell sooooo good!!! But they don't last long, these two have ran out already :'(

Lately, I have had quite a few spot breakouts and I can never find a spot treatment that works well. I have tried all the top brands and none of them seem to work, so I gave this one a try and within two days it had cleared up a huge spot on my chin!! It's a great product!!

I have had this hand cream hidden in my bedside table since Christmas last year and hardly ever used it. But my hands are getting very dry being out in the cold so I actually used it and the smell is lovely!! I love Soap&Glory products so much!!

Anddd finally, these two pieces of clothing are to die for. Both from New Look as it may as well be my second home the amount of clothes I buy there. My wardrobe is mainly full of clothes from New Look.

I bought this top for £9.99 (I think) and the colour is lovely. It is a slight crop top which I am totally not used to wearing at all, so I invested in a pair of black high waisted jeans for £22.99 to go with it. The best thing about shopping in New Look is my student discount! Can not forget that when I'm clothes shopping!!

These are the only things I had bought and used in October. November won't be as exciting as the only things I am buying are Christmas presents, so this may be the last one until after Christmas when I share with you my Christmas presents!!

I hope you enjoyed this post and hope you all have a great weekend!! Stay safe with the fireworks and dark nights!!

Everything she talks about in her blog is so interesting too and I really like it and this blog also deserves more recognition!!

Kayla, at Dainty Dweeb

Autumn Days

Days are getting shorter, Nights are getting darker. You know what that means don't you? Autumn is here... then WINTER!!! I am so excited for both of these seasons, they are my favourite time of the year! Well Winter is my overall fave but then Autumn is the run up to winter which Makes you even more excited!!

As it is Autumn very very soon, I am obviously going to write an Autumn post!! Also suggested by Jasmine at Blogsallbeautyy (Go check her out, her blog is Great!)

First of all, I know most of us girls have different make up choices to chose from for different seasons. So why don't I show you the products I have started using for this season.

This Eye shadow pallet, that was also featured in the August Haul, has different shades which can be used for every season which is why I love it so much and been wearing it almost everyday!! As you can see by the delves in the segments, I have used 4 shades more than the others. The 2 shades at the beginning of the pallet to the left are the shades I was wearing all the way through August and I loved them! The other two darker shades towards the right end of the pallet are what I have been starting to use with a little lighter colour to the inner of my eye. These colours are great for Autumn and Winter.

The next product I have started using is a liquid foundation by L'Oreal instead of the Dream Matte Mouse by Maybelline as I find that in the summer months, liquid foundation doesn't really work for me but the Dream Matte Mouse did so I used that for the summer and now I am going to start using this for Autumn/Winter months. This is the True match foundation by L'Oreal in Beige and I have used it for about 2 weeks and I really like it. It took me a while to get used to but it complements my skin really well in my opinion. (and my Mam thinks so too hahaha)

And of course you can't have your foundation without the matching concealer too!! I really like this concealer works really well too.

I haven't got a very good image of how I have been wearing my hair a lot more but I know I have posted this image on Twitter so some of you may have seen it. I got this look from Zoe (Zoella) from her YouTube tutorial and I really liked it and it looks cute and Autumn and Winter are cute seasons so it reminded me of that hahaha!! It can't be just me... Also this outfit can fit into the autumn season too and this wasn't even planned that way.

Of course no Autumn days are complete without candles burning all around your house to make it extra cosy and warm when the weather outside isn't all that good. These are currently the candles I have out. I do have another candle but it wouldn't fit in the photo. Every single candle I have in my room is a Christmas candle apart from the purple candle called Black Plum Blossom from Yankee Candle, which is like a spring scent.

And to finish it all off, My favourite, Fudge Hot Chocolate with Mini Marshmallows and Squirty Cream, Can't go wrong really can you?

So there it is, most of the things I will be using/Wearing this Autumn and winter, I love all of these!! If you have any Autumn related posts, send me your blog links I would love to read them!!

Liebster Award

I Have been tagged in a post written by Kimberly (Blog for Days) for the Liebster Award which is a brilliant way to be able to meet new bloggers or bloggers who should be recognised more. Thank you Kimberly for tagging me, You are so sweet!! I feel so amazed at the fact I was tagged and I haven't been blogging for long either!!

Okay, so I should get telling you how this all works...

1. Once you have been nominated, Thank your nominator and link their blog too.

2. Include the Liebster Awards Sticker in your blog too. (This can be copied from the top)

3. Nominate a new Blogger with 200 followers or less that you think are worthy of being noticed more with their amazing blogs! Make sure you let them know and maybe leave their links below.

4. Answer the 10 questions asked by your nominator and then make up 10 of your own for your nominees.

5. Copy these rules onto your post.

Kimberly's 10 Questions:

1.What makes you unique from other bloggers?

I think that I am different from other bloggers as I don't just focus on one topic I write about everything and anything and I am very approachable if you need advice.

2.What is your favourite social media to use in regards to your blog?

My favourite social media to use is Twitter. I haven't got a Facebook account for my blog as I think twitter is much better to advertise your blog and to meet more people with blogs and everyone is much friendlier in my opinion and its easier.

3.What do you buy the most of, Make-up wise?

I Don't really buy make-up a lot only if I need it or I have spare money, but lately I have been buying different foundations to test out which is the best to use and also lipsticks (I bought both of these yesterday).

4.What would you consider your style?

I don't really have a style I don't think, but I like to think I dress smart(ish) and so that I look mature, but some days I can look like I haven't slept for days and that iv'e been dragged through a hedge backwards hahaha.

5.What's your favourite holiday and why?

I would have two favourite holiday destinations. One holiday destination would be to Salou, Spain because it is so warm and it is a great place to be as there is so much to do iv'e been there once when I was in year 6 and I have been begging to go back ever since. My second holiday destination would obviously be to Orlando,Florida so that I can be a big kid again and go to Disney world to all of their parks and also go to Universal studios too!! I have never been to America either.

6.Who is your biggest inspiration in life and why?

For this question I am going to have to say my Mam. She has always been there for me picking up the pieces when I have a problem and is always behind me supporting me too. She is the strongest women I know and been through so much together and I love her for that.

7.What is your "go-to" make-up brand?

My "go-to" make-up brand would be Rimmel as it is the one I have been using since I started wearing make-up and had no problems with it at all. Sometimes I like to test out different brands but Rimmel is always the brand I will go back to as it is all really good make-up and affordable.

8.What do you hope for your blog in the future?

With my blog, I really want to do well by making it look professional and for me to learn how to write more professionally too but I wouldn't want any help with it, apart from making a good layout haha. My blog is a hobby that I really enjoy and I hope everyone still continues to read it.

9.What do you do for fun besides blogging?

Well, funny you should ask. I don't really have a social life haha, the most I do for fun is hanging out with my Boyfriend (Kev) as he is also my bestfriend and we can just act like our daft selves and annoy each other and laugh together which I love the most. Don't really need to go out to have fun or have a lot of friends.

10.If you could travel back in time, what time period would you visit?

I would either love to go back to early 1900's before WW1 in Britain just before Titanic set sail, or to the 1920's America because I found it so interesting learning about it in History in school and I also love the films "West Side Story" and "Bugsy Malone" which are both from that time period and it just looks great!!

Now I have done my questions it's time for my nominees to do theirs, and here they are:

1. If you had three wishes, what would you wish for?

2. Where do you hope to see yourself (and your blog) in 5 years time?

3. For new bloggers, what three tips or advice would you give to them?

4. What are your favourite shops/websites to buy clothing?

5. If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you travel to and why?

6. In your spare time, apart from blogging, what is your favourite thing to do and why?

7. Throughout the whole of the year, what is the one thing you most look forward to?

8. What would you class as a perfect day? (a day out or in)

9. If you had the chance to hang out with someone famous or a well known person for a day, who would you hang with and why?

10.What is your favourite Disney character, why?

August Haul

Sorry it is a bit late but just been settling into a new college and it has just been a busy week

Instead of just showing you all what I have been loving each month, I am going to show you all what I have bought in the past month and whether I like or Dislike them.

Stationary:

I have already done one year in college, but because I really didn't like my old college and had a bad year there, I moved to a much better college so I wanted new everything to aim at having a better college experience.

So I had to get new stationary (of course). I go to Wilkinson's for all of my stationary because it is reasonably priced and do good quality things. Like these pens, sticky notes and sharpener in the photo. All of this probably came to around £3.

(Papermate are really good pens to write with)

I also got this new pencil case from Wilkinson's too because I loved the design of it and loved the little pom-poms on the end of the zip. I literally am like a big kid but it's cute. Also it isn't too big or too small and the right size to fit into your bag.

Fashion/Beauty:

I have only just started to try out eye shadows as I didn't know how to apply it properly or have the right type of brushes for it, but since I have been watching tutorials of how to apply it properly, I wanted to buy some nice eye shadows to try out that weren't too expensive.

I found this pallet in T J Hughes by Technic for £1.99 and I find that these work amazing!! I'm a fan of finding good make-up that is also cheap! Don't always have to go for the expensive ranges.

The next place I went to was Primark where I was on the hunt for a new bag for college because my zip broke on my other one (which I still love). I Did look in other places before I looked in Primark because the bags I previously had got from there for school either broke on the first day or when it rained, got soaked right through.

But then I saw this bag and it was the type of bag I was looking for and a decent size bag too. After using the bag for a week now, it is a really good bag and does it purpose well!! Also I really love the design and the colours too. I also picked up this scarf too because it is starting to come in colder now and I really love the colour of it.

I find that my hair gets really knotty really easily, and most of the time, just putting a brush through it doesn't make it any better. So when I went into Home Bargains I found this 'Easy Tease' de-tangler and I find it works really well.

I also bought some Argan oil spray which protects your hair from the heat of your hair dryer or straighteners. Spray it on while it is wet and blow dry it and it makes your hair feel so much healthier!!

The last thing was this hair piece from Primark for when you have a bun in you hair you can place it around your bun to give it some decoration. I Have used it once and I do like it but I think the flowers could have been a little smaller.

Other items:

If you have twitter and see my tweets, you will know that I bought these two books together and the first one I have read is 'Paper Towns'. I read this one first because the film was due out the week that I bought the book and I like to read the books first.

All the way through the book I was so intrigued and I loved the story and I was really looking forward to the end of the book to see what happened to Margo, I'm not going to give anything away in case any of you haven't seen the film or read the book yet, but I was a little disappointed with the ending, I thought it was going to be a whole lot different and better. But the whole of the book is great I just really didn't like the ending it could of been better, but hey! that's just my opinion, let me know what you guys think!!

(I haven't seen the film yet)

I have only just started reading 'Girl Online' and so far I am really enjoying it!! I will let you know what I thought of it in next months post maybe...

Over the holidays I have been really bored with nothing to do and because I do get stressed a lot, I wanted to try out one of these Stress relief adult colouring books, and iv'e got to say they really do relieve all of your stress!! I am even ordering a different book with different designs in later on, or maybe add it to my Christmas list... Yes, I Have already started that too. Here is one of the colouring pages I have done so far. (not finished yet)

And finally, because my college isn't just a 5 minute walk around the corner any more and it is more like a 20 minute train journey,(which means really early mornings) I thought it would be a good idea to buy a Power Pack to be able to charge my phone up if it is running low at college instead of trying to find a free plug socket. I have only used it twice and it does work well, but I am going to test it out more to see how far It will actually charge my phone to before running out.

(I bought this from Mankind just in case you were wanting to find one, this was £7.99, a good buy)

So there you have it, these are the things that I bought last month and what I think of them so far. I hope you enjoyed this post and maybe gave you some ideas of what to buy on your next shopping trip into town!!

Have a great Day/Evening/Night

Day out in York

Before I start this post I just want to say that I am so sorry I haven't posted in a while!! Iv'e been settling into a new college and its great and full of lovely people. I have been extremely tired though but again I am sorry I haven't posted in a while :(

Last week, Me and Kev had a day out in York because we hadn't been anywhere for the whole of the holidays and needed a day out!! It was so lovely there, York is one of my favourite places to visit... Not just for the American Sweet Shop either.

There are so many different kinds of shops from normal everyday ones to the unusual. But obviously, the best shop in York is the Disney Store!! Even though Kev dragged me past it once I still dragged him in when we went past it again!! (Mwhaha) He did tell me if I went in the Disney Store he was taking me to get my ears pierced which I am afraid of doing...(Is that bad?)

One thing I got reallllly excited about in York was the fact that I seen Twinnie- Lee who plays Porsche on Hollyoaks!!! I was literally buzzing and I couldn't believe it!!

You know when you look at someone and think to yourself,"I recognise you from somewhere..." that's what happened. I only remembered who she was when she had power walked past me so I didn't get the chance to speak to her. But she probably didn't want to be noticed.

In York there is this little park down beside the river and it is so beautiful! It was such as nice day as well and the scenery was gorgeous, I couldn't help but take photos and think "This will be great for a blog post". We found this little squirrel as well that 'supposedly' charged at my Mam but I doubt it. They were literally coming right up to you so close you could probably touch them, (I wasn't going to in case it bit me). A man passing by knelt down beside it and was feeding it nuts it was so cute!!

I don't know why but I have this love for pigeons...I also think they are cute too. While we were sitting on a bench, deciding on where to go next, there was this old man on the bench next to us feeding the pigeons but they were like, on his knee and he was stroking them!! It was so amazing and cute!! I would of took a photo but I didn't want to disturb the man (or pigeons).

I got this really spectacular view of the Cathedral as well, I was proud of my photo skills for this.

If you haven't been to York yet, I do recommend you go, it's such a great City!! If there are any places you have been and you loved, please let me know I really would like to go to more places I haven't yet been.

Have a great Day/Evening/Night
