Children in Need

As you may already know, Children in Need was on Friday the 13th this year and because I was in placement at a primary school this year, I thought it would be fun to bake some cakes with Pudsey Bear and sprinkles on for the children.

I didn't have a clue how on earth I was going to make the Pudsey faces, all I knew was that I needed coloured icing and a cutter somehow...

Well, in the end I had to trace a picture of Pudsey from my computer and then copy it onto a cardboard cut out for me to be able to make my Pudsey Bear faces better. It took forever but there were amazing even if I do say so myself. Proper proud of myself!!!

I was up until like 2 in the morning making these... I put a lot of effort into them and at least the children all behaved as they knew there was cake on the go hahaha!! Luckily there were a few left over so I got to take the rest home.

This one was by far my best Pudsey face, I love it!!!

The best thing about being in placement is that I get to join in with all of the activities the children do to guide and support them even though I'm really enjoying them too hahaha!!

Halloween we were allowed to dress up as someone from Harry Potter and for Children in Need I dressed up as a super hero and donated to the charity and did my bit... did you do yours??

Let me know if you did anything like this for Children in Need, it's such a great cause!!

Hope you have all had a great week and keep sending you're thoughts and prayers to all the families in Paris, no one should ever have to go through anything like that!!

August Haul

Sorry it is a bit late but just been settling into a new college and it has just been a busy week

Instead of just showing you all what I have been loving each month, I am going to show you all what I have bought in the past month and whether I like or Dislike them.

Stationary:

I have already done one year in college, but because I really didn't like my old college and had a bad year there, I moved to a much better college so I wanted new everything to aim at having a better college experience.

So I had to get new stationary (of course). I go to Wilkinson's for all of my stationary because it is reasonably priced and do good quality things. Like these pens, sticky notes and sharpener in the photo. All of this probably came to around £3.

(Papermate are really good pens to write with)

I also got this new pencil case from Wilkinson's too because I loved the design of it and loved the little pom-poms on the end of the zip. I literally am like a big kid but it's cute. Also it isn't too big or too small and the right size to fit into your bag.

Fashion/Beauty:

I have only just started to try out eye shadows as I didn't know how to apply it properly or have the right type of brushes for it, but since I have been watching tutorials of how to apply it properly, I wanted to buy some nice eye shadows to try out that weren't too expensive.

I found this pallet in T J Hughes by Technic for £1.99 and I find that these work amazing!! I'm a fan of finding good make-up that is also cheap! Don't always have to go for the expensive ranges.

The next place I went to was Primark where I was on the hunt for a new bag for college because my zip broke on my other one (which I still love). I Did look in other places before I looked in Primark because the bags I previously had got from there for school either broke on the first day or when it rained, got soaked right through.

But then I saw this bag and it was the type of bag I was looking for and a decent size bag too. After using the bag for a week now, it is a really good bag and does it purpose well!! Also I really love the design and the colours too. I also picked up this scarf too because it is starting to come in colder now and I really love the colour of it.

I find that my hair gets really knotty really easily, and most of the time, just putting a brush through it doesn't make it any better. So when I went into Home Bargains I found this 'Easy Tease' de-tangler and I find it works really well.

I also bought some Argan oil spray which protects your hair from the heat of your hair dryer or straighteners. Spray it on while it is wet and blow dry it and it makes your hair feel so much healthier!!

The last thing was this hair piece from Primark for when you have a bun in you hair you can place it around your bun to give it some decoration. I Have used it once and I do like it but I think the flowers could have been a little smaller.

Other items:

If you have twitter and see my tweets, you will know that I bought these two books together and the first one I have read is 'Paper Towns'. I read this one first because the film was due out the week that I bought the book and I like to read the books first.

All the way through the book I was so intrigued and I loved the story and I was really looking forward to the end of the book to see what happened to Margo, I'm not going to give anything away in case any of you haven't seen the film or read the book yet, but I was a little disappointed with the ending, I thought it was going to be a whole lot different and better. But the whole of the book is great I just really didn't like the ending it could of been better, but hey! that's just my opinion, let me know what you guys think!!

(I haven't seen the film yet)

I have only just started reading 'Girl Online' and so far I am really enjoying it!! I will let you know what I thought of it in next months post maybe...

Over the holidays I have been really bored with nothing to do and because I do get stressed a lot, I wanted to try out one of these Stress relief adult colouring books, and iv'e got to say they really do relieve all of your stress!! I am even ordering a different book with different designs in later on, or maybe add it to my Christmas list... Yes, I Have already started that too. Here is one of the colouring pages I have done so far. (not finished yet)

And finally, because my college isn't just a 5 minute walk around the corner any more and it is more like a 20 minute train journey,(which means really early mornings) I thought it would be a good idea to buy a Power Pack to be able to charge my phone up if it is running low at college instead of trying to find a free plug socket. I have only used it twice and it does work well, but I am going to test it out more to see how far It will actually charge my phone to before running out.

(I bought this from Mankind just in case you were wanting to find one, this was £7.99, a good buy)

So there you have it, these are the things that I bought last month and what I think of them so far. I hope you enjoyed this post and maybe gave you some ideas of what to buy on your next shopping trip into town!!

Have a great Day/Evening/Night

Dismaland- Yes or No?

I was thinking about doing a post on Dismaland and when I took to twitter to ask what you all wanted to read someone mentioned this and I thought 'Why not?'.

For those who might not know what it is, Dismaland is a different type of theme park made my the artist Banksy. Now when I heard the name to this them park I thought 'Well this doesn't sound appealing' and when I looked at the photographs of inside the theme park I was so freaked out. It was like it was wanting me to be scared of the Disney Castle and The little Mermaid. But I guess it is meant to be like that to be the UK's most disappointing theme park.

I don't even know why anyone would want to go into the theme park. I reckon it would be good for Halloween events or like scare zones for Halloween like they do in Universal for Horror Nights. It has certainly got hidden messages around the park in my opinion as that is what every artist aims for in my opinion. Like the little remote control boats that have lots of people on as though it has a hidden message or wants you to feel a certain way.

When I have been doing my research, I came across a picture of a killer whale jumping out of a toilet into a small little paddling pool for kids, and to me this gives a very strong message across and kind of links with Sea World in Orlando which I don't agree with either. Yeah it's lovely to see the different animals but their enclosures and tanks are just wayyy too small for them and they are trying to open another Sea World in Dubai which I don't think should go ahead.

To me, this really freaks me out and I don't like it. But hey! That's just my opinion, there may be people out there who really like this sort of thing and intrigued by it, but personally I don't really like it. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I'm not going to post any photos of this, Just in case there are watermarked or in need of permission to use them. Let me know your views on Dismaland.

Have a great Day/Evening/Night
