Women on a mission
Yesterday, I was having a conversation with a lovely girl called Libbie (simplylibbie) on twitter about mental illness and how it should be taken more seriously and made more aware of in society.
I Think this is something that needs to happen urgently, and something I believe that should be taught about in schools and colleges as a compulsory session. More and more teenagers and young adults, especially within our generation and society are experiencing situations that can be very hard and difficult to deal with which builds up the pressure and emotions, and most of the time young people either don't know anyone who they can go and speak to about how they are feeling and for someone who could help them, or they don't have the confidence to do this.
I want to try and change this. You hear about stories via social networking sites of people taking their own lives or attempting to because of difficult situations, this is something that no one should have to experience!!
I know a lot of people who I speak to and even myself, suffer with anxiety problems and even though people think Anxiety isn't a type of mental illness, It is. It isn't something that would be seen as a mental illness but fro when I have been reading and researching into it, the NHS website actually classes it as a mental disorder/illness type thing. Depression, Stress, Anxiety, Panic and Anger are all under this heading on the NHS website and this is something I believe should be a compulsory sessions in schools and colleges so that young people know who they can go and speak to and strategies they can use to overcome this mental feeling.
I have had first hand experience of quite a few of these and it is awful!! But since I had someone to talk to and actually by watching Zoella's videos on YouTube, it has helped me a lot!! From what I was at the start of the year to now, I am proud of my self that I know how to control it more and how I am able to help others due to my experience.
This is why I want to make this my mission. Starting from now, I want to attempt to start a way of making mental illness sessions a compulsory session within schools and colleges. More and more people are beginning to suffer from mental situations and something needs to be done about it. This needs to be taken more seriously and something needs to be brought into action sooner rather than later and I am pretty sure most of you will agree!!
Let's try and make mental illnesses made aware of throughout or nation, something like this will save lives!! I hope you are all with me on this.
Here are two links for Zoella's channel on Anxiety and Panic attacks, I hope some of you find this useful!!
Thank you for your time and Have a great Sunday!!
